Wallingford Bridge Over the Otter Creek

Route 140, Wallingford, VT

This 126’ long truss bridge was sandblasted to remove existing lead paint. Vermont Protective Coatings then applied a Vermont Agency of Transportation approved 3 coat paint system consisting of a zinc primer, an epoxy intermediate coat, and a urethane topcoat.

Steel beams have been sandblasted and had the zinc primer applied. A “stripe coat” of epoxy paint has been applied to nuts, bolts, and clips to insure full film thickness to meet the specs for this project.

A full containment was built over the bridge to contain dust and paint overspray.

A platform was built underneath the bridge utilizing Vermont Protective Coatings’ staging, rigging, and platform material and equipment.
